Southern Comfort 2 (Ski-in/Ski-out)

One side of a duplex, Southern Comfort 2 offers great views of the ski hill along the Alpen Trail. Access to Lift #1 along the Alpen Trail from the backyard. 3 bedrooms occupy the lower level, 2 with queen beds and one with 2 twin beds. The fourth bedroom is located on the upper level with a queen bed and there is also a loft with 3 twin beds. Perfect for several couples or a larger family. The living room has a free standing wood burning fireplace and access to the deck from a patio door in the upstairs living room. There is a shared outdoor hot tub on the patio and a gas grill on the deck. The hot tub is *WINTER ONLY*. WIFI and TV essentials (Firestick) available throughout the unit. Pets are not allowed in this unit. Rent both Southern Comfort 1 & 2 if more space is needed. Between the two units there will then be 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms available.

  The condo was nice. Bring paper or cardboard to start the fire. The wood is good just take a while to get it going. We had a problem with maintenance taking beer and seltzers off the porch and throwing it away. Be sure to keep everything you want on the back deck. We also had them take our son’s snowboard bag thinking that was garbage too! Katie in lodging did help us with replacing the beer and seltzers. One of the condos had an issue with electricity in one of the bedrooms and hot tub but Katie also was very helpful with getting that taken care of. One suggestion, bring your own toilet paper, they have the cheapest kind you can buy! Overall everything was good, we’re booked for next year 😊Katie was super helpful with everything we needed!

  This is a great place, but the price was high for the quality. For the price, we were disappointed in the quality. The hot tub didn't work the first night (went into sleep mode, which we couldn't change out of and so not hot). There were mice droppings in the kitchen. Walls are thin. No shampoo provided. Bedding and mattresses fine, but not particularly nice or comfortable. No kindling provided for wood stove and the wood was snowy/wet, so harder to start a good fire. No extras as you might expect with an AirBNB, this is just the basics. But, if you want a place with a hot tub right on the hill, this works and we had fun. Powderhorn is a great place to ski.

  Ski in ski out was awesome for us as we have many skill and age levels. The only negative we have was the ladder up to the loft wasn't stable and thus we didn't use the beds up there. Would've been perfect with the loft.

  Overall the property is great. Amazing location, well stocked by the owners, and fairly clean. One issue is that we were given fire starters but no matches. When we asked the front desk, they looked at us like we had two heads. We ended up buying a lighter from wal-mart and gifting it to the place.
  Additionally, there were no directions on the tv, if there was even any tv service, or how to use the tv. It’s nice to have something to watch when the lifts close. We’ve stayed in the property before and it had cable. This time it did not.

  We loved the location on the hill and had a good time. We could never get the TV to work which was a hassle and the owners did not resolve the situation. It was very hard to get answers about anything really which caused frustration.

  This rental readily accomodates our family of 6 adults and 5 children. We have stayed here twice and would gladly do again. The only detriment was a dirty hot tub. Last year it was clean.

  The location was perfect. The place was well appointed for 11 people. We were able to ski in/out with ease. We enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi and even went sledding on the Alpen run at night. We want to come back soon.

Improvements for next year: chair in kitchen and smaller one in living room could use some repair Have cleaning staff clean behind big chair where wood debris was laying around Ensure ice/snow does not build up between front door and cars as we ended up walking over an ice hump to get to cars
