  We had 5 units in Hugel Haus over the MLK holiday weekend and the location was perfect. The units were clean and comfortable. The 15 of us planned on breakfast and lunch in our rooms at the Hugel Haus and dinner Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Caribou Lodge. Dinner Friday and Saturday were great but SURPRISE the Caribou was closed Sunday. Luckily we were able to pile in our cars and drive to an open local restaurant.

  My 16 year old son and I along with my brother stayed in Hugel Haus 7 for an extended weekend. What a great trip! The Haus was literally across the street from the mtn. When they say you can walk they are not kidding. It was just what we wanted. The room had a great view of the mtn, was clean when we arrived and was a perfect fit for us. We are already discussing our next trip to Big Powderhorn!

  Weeks past from using the very user friendly online booking service, My heart was beating with anticipation as I turned off of US 2 onto powderhorn rd., heading toward the ski hill. I was finally here. Gods country. I found myself in awe of the breathtaking scenery as we neared the resort. Upon arrival, I had a very pleasant experience with the powderhorn staff, giving detailed instruction on location of the chalet. Having found my room, I was immediately overtook by the impeccable charm, rivaled only by my late grandmothers house, with pleasant hint of north woods cabin, and ski decor. The room was clean, organized, and looked to be well maintained. I also loved being near the restaurant at the lodge. The name I forget, but the quality will forever remain in my mind. Never before have I had such a pleasant experience, and I would recommend to all.

  This is a very handy location and the place is very clean. My suggestion would be to replace the high top table and chairs with a normal set. That way people could pull a chair over to converse with people as the couch holds only 3 at the most. (Or watch tv). It would also make the place feel bigger visually.

  The unit is clean. Kitchen is well-equipped. Bed is comfortable and bedroom has good closet space. WiFi is good. Things to watch out for: hot water is VERY hot. You have to take care not to burn yourself. The place could use some coat hooks by door. The sleeper sofa came over on the Mayflower. TV in bedroom doesn't work.

  We stayed here so we could easily walk to the lodge and because we wanted to cook rather than eat out. Kitchen supplies were weak -- but serviceable. (Could do with a refresh on utensils, for example.) We were happy with it for the few days we were there (and Powderhorn itself was great family skiing.)

  Great location for the price. Kind of tight quarters for two adults and two teenagers but for the price to be right near the hills it was great. Plenty of blankets and cookware (we cooked all our own meals), even had a crock pot. Bed was comfortable, just small. It was very clean and comfy.

  We were in for a family fall wedding. Our room was open for us as we arrived late. Room was clean and comfortable. Would have been nice to know there was no coffee, tea, shampoo, conditioner or lotion provided. There were broken floor tiles in the bathroom. Nice area for hiking. Futon in living area provides extra sleep space. Thank you.

  Everything was very good. If I had one recommendation, I would figure out a trailer system for snowmobiles to get out to the main road/trail. Drive 4 miles on the road can be problematic. Shuttle system was GREAT!

  The lodging was convienent and a good price, esp if planning to make your own meals. A bit tight for 4 adults but we managed. The biggest issue we had was with the quality of this ski resort. Extremely slow lifts, no quads. No challenge unless you're a beginner skier. We wont come back.

  The only complaint we had was the oven temp. control knob wasn't correct. We had to have it on 500 in order to bake some garlic bread and an egg bake. But was nice and cozy and close to the skiing.
