  My friend group does a ski trip once a year and for most of us it is the only time we see each other. Family Times 1 is where we stayed last year and it is absolutely perfect for our group.   Good location. Lots of space. Comfortable beds. Would be helpful to have more dish towels in the kitchen. The insides of the kitchen drawers were dirty (silverware/cooking utensil drawers). Unfortunately- we also saw a mouse in the kitchen on our first night there. We had to purchase and place traps to catch it. We caught it but really should not have to deal with this on vacation.

  Fire place in the lower level had to be shut off inside the unit. The thermostat didn't work. Hot tub was really stinky. Heater in door way going outside didn't work. Lots of nice features but others need to be updated or addressed for issues.

  This place has everything you could want! Nice hang out area in basement with Hot Tub, Sauna, Pool Table and seating for all!   Ski-in/ski-out on Big Powderhorn Mountain cannot be beat! This was our third time staying at Family Times 1, and once again, we absolutely LOVED it. Everyone enjoyed the sauna, hot tub and pool table, but our favorite place in the house is sitting by the fire with a cup of coffee watching the groomer in the morning and the skiers in the afternoon. If you have children, ski-in/ski-out is a must! The only complaint we have is that two people in our family cut their feet on two sharp pieces of plastic at the bottom of the hot tub. Be cautious!

The location can't be beat. Right on the "bunny" hill making it easy to get to the Gun Barrel Lodge, Caribou Lodge, or the Chairlifts. Ski In Ski Out was great.   My family, along with two other families, rented out Family Times 1 and 2 and loved it! The kids had a wonderful time skiing, playing games, and generally hanging out. The hot tub was key after long days of skiing! The entire property was very clean, well-maintained and everything a ski chalet should be. It had a very well stocked kitchen (we ate in the entire 4 days) and very welcome gas fireplaces for relaxing and warming up throughout the day. The sunroom facing the ski slope was our favorite place as we watched the kids and other adults ski down BPM. We have already booked it for next year and are looking forward to it again!

  We usually book Family Times 3, but this year had a larger group so we rented the largest unit. This location is awesome. You can walk to the pool/restaurant/bar/ski rental/tune up/shop. Didn't like that Powderhorn didn't offer night skiing on weekends anymore. When I booked last July that would've impacted my decision. As the cost of lift tickets wasn't reduced at all. Check in is at 4 pm. We arrived at 3. Was told the previous renters left a huge mess. We had one teenager who wasn't feeling well and a 2 yr old who required diaper changes. The cleaning staff notified us that they were short staffed (during what they called ****-week), apparently someone quit. Cleaning staff wasn't finished until 4:50. When you drive 5.5 hrs, you'd like your trip to begin properly. The mountain didn't even compensate us for one or two ski passes. Apologies were made and I understand things happen but we weren't the only family waiting to enter Family Times. The accomodations were great. Fully stocked kitchen, games, and pool table. Great for separate teen space from little kids. Two families stayed here. 4 kids 9 & under and 3 teenages, 4 adults. Perfectly comfortable!! Lift behind Big Bird wasn't open yet, which was disappointing, but they were making snow. The lift operators are awesome and the skiing was great. Apart from no night skiing, it was a lovely trip.

  My husband and I stayed here during our wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The lodge was incredibly spacious, comfortable and very clean. It has beautiful views and there's so much to do nearby (Copper Peak, waterfalls, hiking, Lake Superior). The staff was so kind and helpful, eager to please and easy to work with.   We just returned from a 3 night stay at this property. It was just perfect for our group of 7 consisting of my husband and I and our two college age sons and three of their friends. The kids had so much fun on the slopes and in the unit itself. The weather was record-breaking cold, so when the slopes got too chilly, there was still lots to do inside the chalet. The kids absolutely loved the pinball machine, pool table and hot tub. Everything we could think of and more was provided in the unit, from board games to DVD's, fireplaces, just too much to mention. Other than the extreme cold, our stay was so pleasant. The chalet being ski-in/ski-out was so handy and the heated ski gear room on the back of our chalet was ingenious. It was neat stopping off on the mountain for lunch at the Alpen Inn off of the Flintlock trail. We had dinner twice in the Caribou Lodge which was excellent. Everyone at the mountain was friendly and accommodating and I just can't say enough about our experience. Really great!!

  What a great experience! Located close to the lodge allowed us to quite conveniently walk there to buy lift tickets. Once outfitted, we could ski in to the chalet. Non-skiers had a great view of the slopes to keep an eye on our skiers. After skiing the hot tub and sauna rejuvenated our spirits for a meal served on the large "picnic" table. At night, we watched our favorite movies on the large LCD TV with a quite amazing picture. Top notch.

  This is such a well maintained, high quality property. It's home away from home, only better. Everything you need is here. A fully equipped kitchen, family entertainment, hot tub and sauna, and large luxurious beds. Our most recent stay was off-season, so it wasn't about the ski hill, but this is a great place to stay in the summer if you want pamper yourself and indulge the family.

  Family Times 1 was fantastic! Plenty of dishes in the kitchen with top notch appliances and pots and pans. Long table was wonderful for the 10 of us in the condo for the weekend. A nice gathering spot after a day on the slopes!Living area by the tv could use more seating - hard to watch the packer viking game with seating for 3 near the tv. Loved the fireplace in the sun room - a great spot to read in the morning when everyone else was still sleeping. Enjoyed the hot tub and sauna in the basement also. The pool table and pinball machine were a great hit with the guys - who knew how addicting the pinball could become!! Would definitely return to this unit in the future - very easy to find on the hill!!!

  My family and I stayed at Family Times 1 for four days and three nights, and we LOVED it. The kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steal appliances, and all but one of the bedrooms has a flatscreen television. The hot tub and sauna are top of the line. What was even better, we could step off our deck and hit the slopes any time of the day or night. I haven't even mentioned the pool table, pinball machine and bonfire area. We will definitely return to Family Times 1 next winter!

  I have stayed in Family Times for over 25 years... first stayed in it as Apres Ski in the 80s!! The new owners have done a FANTASTIC job of updates and it is a TERRIFIC place to ski with kids.   The check-in person couldn't navigate the business software at all which caused a really significant delay after a long day of travel. The person supervising was noticeably frustrated and together they made the check-in experience quite awkward and tense. When I returned to re-book for next year, as she was taking my information, she answered the phone and spent more than 5 minutes answering numerous questions of a caller who obviously had very general questions about the resort and was not ready to book anything as I was. She should have taken a number and returned the call in my opinion, or transferred the call to another representative. The process was also interrupted a number of times by a bookkeeper with questions about numbers she was crunching and payments she was reconciling sitting in a very small space behind the check-in desk in my plain view. In short, the office area and the front desk personnel were strikingly unprofessional (just to explain the 2 stars). That aside (and in the big picture that was a very small thing) the accommodations were nothing short of spectacular and we look forward to a repeat visit to Family Times next year! Merry Christmas!

  The service was amazing. There always seemed to be someone available to deliver clean towels or plow the drive (24 hours per day). Linens were crisp, hot tub prestine and there was an endless amount of games. The heated ski room entrance was amazing!
