Southern Comfort 1 (Ski-in/Ski-out)

One side of a duplex, Southern Comfort 1 is a wonderfully cozy vacation home perfect for several couples or a larger family. It offers 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the lower level, the kitchen, dining area and living room, as well as 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom on the main level. A loft with 3 twin beds overlooks the living room. The living room has a wonderful free-standing wood burning fireplace, large patio doors leading out to a deck and overlooking the Alpen Trail. There is a shared outdoor hot tub on the patio. The hot tub is *WINTER ONLY*. WIFI is available throughout. Pets are not allowed. Rent both Southern Comfort 1 & 2 if more space is needed. Between the two units there will then be 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms available. Southern Comfort 1 is located on the Alpen trail and has access to lift #1.

  The location on Alpen was perfect for our family so the adults could ski in and out and tag team watching the kids in the house. The kitchen was a great size. I do wish there was more seating in the living room area to accommodate 11 guests. Each bedroom had its own thermostat which was very nice. The mattresses are very firm but after a long day of skiing we were all tired enough to fall asleep regardless. Plenty of pillows and blankets were provided.

  The house was clean and well stocked. The location was great. Check in was easy and the staff very friendly. The only complaint was that the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. We had 5 people staying and everyone had their own bed. Each of us agreed that the beds were very uncomfortable. Other than that it was an awesome slopeside house.

  The new non-contact check-in process worked very slick. The unit was in great shape. It was my husband and I and 3 grown sons. The ski in & out location was great. We enjoyed the hot tub. Bonus, no one checked into the adjoining unit till 3 days into our stay. We totally enjoyed our time and will choose that unit again.

  This was the perfect cabin to stay in for our 2 families to reunite and ski. The house was clean and organized, came with great games for the kids, and had the perfect amount of space. We enjoyed the hot tub, too! But the best part was being on Alpen Run. Skiers of all abilities can do Alpen, and also since it was SO cold, we could do a few runs and come in the house to warm up. We also did a bit of nighttime sledding!

  The property's location was great for our families. We had two 8yr olds, so the ski-in ski-out on Alpen was perfect. The condo was quiet, even with neighbors next door. The wood fire kept us really warm as well.
  The only downside was the price. We rented a condo on the Gulf in FL for a week for less than the 4 days on the mountain.
  Still, a great New Years trip.

  I stayed at Powderhorn for a work contract. The place was nice and quiet. Everything I needed was there I just brought clothes and food. If I have another contract there I would stay here again.

  We really enjoyed the slopeside location of this house. It is located on an easy run which was perfect for our grandkids. The 4 bedrooms, loft and 3 bathrooms were clean and comfortable. One note for families is that the ladder to the loft is very steep. The kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs, our only nitpick being the coffee maker which should be replaced, and the refrigerator was not clean when we arrived. Our family loved the idea of the hot tub, although it is shared with the other side of the duplex. We appreciated getting a late checkout. We would definitely recommend this property.

  We had a group of 7 and had plenty of space. Hope a few more friends can join us next year - we already booked southern Comfort II ! The place was well stocked with dishes and towels. The hot tub was great and checked every day by staff. Great ski in/ski out access - only down side is the flight of steps with ski boots and equipment. Suggest shovel a path from front steps along the side of building to the back.

  I was a little worried with the pictures online. The unit is dated but extremely clean and well kept. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed for cooking. Even had a grill and crockpot to use! Never had to leave for anything the 3 days we were there. Already planning to stay here next year.
