  The unit was as expected. This is the 2nd year we stayed there. The skiing was great although a bit crowded as the mountain was about half open. The conditions were good though. Gotta give the mountain staff credit for the conditions!

  I was a little taken back by how old the place was. Don't get me wrong, it was very clean and a great location. Just saying it could use some modern updates. My brother stayed in the condos and they were beautiful and modernized.

  We had a really nice weekend staying at the Hugel House! The rental was very cozy and comfortable, even if it was a bit old-fashioned. The unit itself had everything we needed, including a little kitchen with cookware (byo salt and pepper), a little covered front balcony, and a electric fireplace that blew out tons of heat. As for the location, it would be hard to beat. The main lodges were just right across the street, and we could walk to a chairlift in less than a minute. Would come back again!

  Big Powderhorn exceeded my expectations. The Hugel Haus 4 was clean and neat. A little small, but I loved the "up-north" cabin decor. It had all the pots and pans, dishes, we needed to cook meals for 4 people. There were towels and sheets. The pull-out coach was full. It is not luxury but for $550 for 3 nights (given its location) it is a great bargain!
  
  It is easy to put on your ski books and walk across the street to the lift, not ski-in/ski-out but very accessible. It is also just across the street from the main lodges Gun Barrel and Caribou. So easy access to the bar and restaurant. Caribou is where the pool and sauna are, which is a must for my kids. Everything, lodge, pool, sauna, restaurant was clean and nice. The prices in the restaurant where very reasonable: coffee, two sodas, giant cookie = $11. I had my skis waxed at the rental shop for $15 and they did a nice job. I got a private lesson for the kids, 1hr=$80, the instructors (all adults) were good. The skiing was great. There are some steep hills, some un-groomed runs, some moguls, a nice off-trail, through the trees, run. A very nice all-around hill with something for everyone. It is not Colorado but it is as good as it gets for the skiing I have done in the mid-west (Snow River, Granite Peak, Whitecap, devils head, etc). It is not Little Bohemia, but that is suppose to be different. They groomed every morning. We were there in early march and they had about half the lifts going but every trail was accessible. It was not crowded at all (which is why only half the lifts were running), so we skied to the front of the lifts on every run. If you look at the trail map nearly every lift has a redundant lift.
  
  I would definitely go back Big Powderhorn. We are trying to ski everything in the mid-west and BPM is at the top of my list!

  The amenities aren’t 5 star but they get the job done. Bring your own shampoo :) location is great - kitty corner from the lodge, with fresh snow it was a ski in ski out

  We had a great weekend skiing! Condo was comfortable and close to hill. Furnishings were ok. Really we were out skiing all day. We packed a bunch of snacks and lunch items as we weren’t sure what food at hill would be like. Next, don’t bother! Everywhere we went on resort staff was overly friendly and helpful. Prices seemed fair/consistent w other ski hills. Our kids are already talking about coming back next year so trip was a complete success.

  I had a peaceful summer in the UP staying at Hugel Haus. The apartment was fully furnished and had plenty of space. The leasing office was attentive and very polite. The location was perfect - I went for runs, hikes, and bike rides almost every day. My only (minor) complaints were: the bug screens should be replaced, as they have lots of tears and sooooo many bugs got in; Verizon does not get cell service in the unit so I could not make phone calls or texts to non-iPhones; some of the appliances were outdated, i.e. the bathroom fan was extremely loud and the tub drains would not close. Overall, a great stay for the value, and I would recommend it to everyone staying in Ironwood/Bessemer!

  We enjoyed our stay at Hugel House. It was just a short walk across a parking lot to the ski hill. The unit had everything we needed for our stay and was cozy and warm. It’s an older building with older furnishings, but was clean. The bathroom was remodeled in the recent past.

  We experienced a lot of ice on the outside steps and their approach. It was caused by melt running off of the roof just above that entrance. The walls are thin. We heard every sound our party neighbors made one night.

  We stayed at Hugel Haus # 4. It is a remodeled small condo for 2 adults and 2 small children. It was clean. The futon bed was comfortable, the mattress in the bedroom a bit hard for me. The unit was quiet and nicely decorated. My only complaint is the quality of the furniture. It looks nice, however it is of poor quality. Difficult to open the drawers, wobbly table. Just be careful with it. Overall a good place for the money.

  Great location, good furniture, dishes, etc. Very pleasant cabin style, we had all we expected and more. Big fresh water bottle & dish detergent was a very nice touch. Shower was very dirty (with hair, etc.), and sheets should be better clened. Other than that - great place, we'll probaly come back!
